Probably because it was easier to give in to a possible fit of not wanting to wear her jacket. I have experienced my 2 year old nieces fits when my sister tries to put her jacket on and OMG!!!

I was going to say the same thing.
There are plenty of times my DD has no jacket. I'm not going to fight with her. Let her be cold and figure it out for herself some day. You pick your battles.
