January Mommies, How's it going????

So ladies, most of us are at the home stretch now. How are we all doing????

I'm 35 weeks. My back is killing me (mainly due to commuting). Nursery is all set (with the exception of Christmas decoration boxes which will move to the attic after Christmas). I have my internal next Friday (not concerned, I'm a tough chica I think).

I have aother growth sono at 37 weeks. At that point, we'll determine a sked c-section, etc. Baby Dodge is still measuring on the large side (no surprise).

Still haven't done our hospital tour (may not have time being DH's work sked). We are 90% done with our birthing DVD's (we'll finish them this weekend). Laugh & Learn Childbirth, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Things to still do:
car seat installation!!!

Re: January Mommies, How's it going????

Very uncomfortable and very bored. I'm just done. Last night I had a huge meltdown that stemmed from a fight the day before between DH and I. DH had Tuesday off and I had an early morning Dr. appt. When I got home we planned on going to BRU. He was taking his sweet time about getting dressed and I asked him are going to get dressed. I guess in his world I asked him too many times and called me effing annoying. I was so friggin mad and hurt. Well last night it all came out. On top of being laid off, I feel like I'm a prisoner in my own home and body and when the opportunity comes up to do something that's for the baby, I just want to go out and do it. I can't walk far because I'm just too damn uncomfortable. I said that I'm tired of pricking my fingers 4 times a day to test my blood sugar and I'm tired of sticking my belly with sryinges filled with insulin. I could not stop crying. He apologized for calling me annoying.

Now, I just found out that a friend of mine that I worked with and who was also laid off has to go down to unemployment and if she doesn't go, they'll stop her benefits. I'm praying to God that they'll leave me alone.

Tomorrow, I'll be 35 weeks and I'm hoping that time will go fast.

Re: January Mommies, How's it going????

35 weeks today. This has been my fourth week on bed rest. I am extremely bored but the bed rest is doing its job. I had an appointment this past monday and my cervix was still long and closed.
My next appointment is the 22nd and I will go off procardia, which is the medication that is keeping me from having contractions. I am hoping after that, the babies come soon, I am ready for them to be out. At that appointment I am also hoping we will schedule a c-section. They keep telling me 39 weeks, but I am going to talk to them about doing it earlier. They will do another biophysical, NST, and growth at that next appointment, so I am hoping based on that maybe I can get a c-sec for 37 or 38 weeks, although I am doubtful I will make it that far anyway. I don't want a c-sec but baby A is breech, so its the safest thing to do.
I am feeling very large and am ready to meet these little babies.

Re: January Mommies, How's it going????

I never know where to post-- I am a Jan mommy, but for some reason I started off on the Feb thread.

Anyhoo-- I am sticking with Jan for now! I am 33 weeks today.

I have insane back pain-- very stiff. I think it's mostly because I am getting more uncomfortable sleeping so I wake up with a very stiff back. I have the heating pad surgically attached to my back. I have had back pain all pregnancy and have had an embarrassing amount of massages-- but, I think I am going to need at least 2 more to make it through the next 7 weeks to spare DH's thumbs.

I am starting to really see the affects of my extra blood with bulging veins, and pain in the crotch area. It's hot.

My skin is starting to break out again, I am feeling extraordinarily fat-- even though my belly is still small. I can't stand my face, my thighs or my arms.

Speaking of small belly-- I am getting a growth sono on 12/22 after telling my doc I was concerned about my belly size. I am so excited to see how big the baby is. I think it's safe to say, that I will not have any surprises and the Alien will be on the small side. I was tiny, and DH wasn't that big at birth either.

I have an appt with my OB on 12/17 to discuss delivery. He said don't bother to write a birth plan-- so many things can happen, it's not worth it. And, nothing will be done to me or the baby without my permission. So, I guess just DH and I need to be on the same page so he can answer for me, if I can't. We also start our Ped interviews tomorrow!

I have started a little shopping for "hospital clothes", nursing friendly items that I can be seen in public with (meaning they fit) and slippers, etc. I need to start getting my hospital bag together.

I have to get a few things for the nursery-- but, we are not doing much before the baby gets here. But, we have some trips to PBK and BBB to get what we need for right away.
