Jake is sick
Jake has his first fever (he is 19 months old). This afternooon is was 102.8, but after some tylenol it went down to 100 - 101. He seems to be acting fine, eating a little less. Tonight he had 101.4 temperature so I gave him motrin before he went to bed. Is there anything else I can do. How long do I wait to see if the fever goes down before taking him to the doctor.
I also want to add he is drooling like a madman (still only had 6 teeth). Do you think the temperature could be related to the teething?
Thanks

Re: Jake is sick
Sorry he's sick! It's the worst when our babies are suffering.
102.8 sounds a bit high for teething (it's typically closer to 100 - 101). It's probably viral. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do but give them motrin/tylenol or advil and let it run its course.
If it spikes again tomorrow morning, I would call the ped. They may want to see him to rule out an ear infection, strep or something else.
I hope he feels better in the morning!
