IVF w/ ICSI?

Did anyone not have male factor and still do IVF w/ ICSI?
LI IVF is requesting a 2nd SA and when I ask why they said GHI requires it so of course since I work there I personally asked the pple who review IVF auths and they said a 2nd SA is only needed when there is sperm issues. I do not need it for my situation.

So my question is, what other reasons could my dr have for wanting me to go for a 2nd SA? First SA was normal!
I will also miss another month if DH has to go for a 2nd SA.

We did ICSI and have no male factor issues. Because they were able to retrieve a lot of eggs, they did half ICSI and half regular fertilization. ICSI increase your chances for fertilization, in the even that maybe you don't have many good quality eggs to choose from.
Not sure about the 2nd SA, it might just be an insurance requirement. Good luck. HTH.

We had no MF but did ISCI......

It was my feeling that I may as well make use of every possible resource we could that was available to be successful (esp since we paid OOP) ...

Fortunately it worked (2x)


Maybe they want the 2nd SA to compare ????

yes we used icsi. my previous pg which ended in mc two sperm fertilized one egg which led to triploidy and thats why i mc'd at 9 weeks. this way with icsi that wouldnt/couldnt happen again...but technically no mf. gl!

Thanks ladies....I guess its always better to try everything you can to increase the odds. I'm just disappointed that I may have to wait another month before starting my first IVF.
