IVF question !
IF our final IUI doesnt work and we do move onto IVF next cycle- Approx. how long is it until you actually do a transfer from beginning to end ???...This is going to sound dumb but we are in a vacation club and have to use up our time or we lose it, and I don't want to book a vacation smack dab in the middle of a cycle, but I also don't want to skip a cycle- Time is of the essence, and its far more important to me than losing a vacation, but if I kinda have an idea, maybe I can make it work- (We my actually be able to use a vacation at that point !!!)...Oh lets all hope '08 has some good things in store for all of us !!!

Re: IVF question !
It's unfortunately really hard to say.
A lot of it has to do with how you respond to the meds.
I was a super quick stimmer but I know lots of girls who took twice as long as me until they were able to trigger.
Plus it's going to depend on your RE's availability - most only do a designated number per month so you can't always count on the fact that when YOU are ready is when THEY will be ready.
Sorry there's not an easier answer.
Hoping your IUI works!!!

Re: IVF question !
Also, it may take longer because you have to go through testing before you move on to IVF, such as blood work, I know I had to do many things such as a water sono evulation from a psychologist mammogram...each RE is different. Then before you start the cycle I had I do be in BCP for like 2 weeks.

Re: IVF question !
If you can go during the time you're on BCP that would be ideal. I was on BCP for a month before I started the meds.

Re: IVF question !
I just had my IVF interview and when we went over the "calendar of events" it came out to about 6 weeks. I would be on BCP for the first 3 weeks. Like everyone said though it can be different for everyone and each RE sets up different protocol for everyone. I would call your RE and ask them to give you an idea about how long and what your protocol might be. I did that b4 the interview and they were very helpful.

Re: IVF question !
Mine will take 7 weeks from start to finish.. I guess everyone is really different because I won't be on BC at all... you should call your doctor and find out how it will work for you.

Re: IVF question !
My IVF cycle took about 7 1/2 weeks. I was originally told approx 6 weeks, but I needed to be on Lupron for almost an extra week which delayed my stimming and then it took me a few days extra to get my follies to mature.
It is very hard to determine how your body will react to all the meds.
