I've officially found the hardest task to accomplish as a parent...
Packing up our place to move   How in the world am I supposed to do this?! She's into everything, then I have to put her in the pack n play, then she gets pizzed off that she's in there, then I take her out and spend the next hour keeping her out of everything My mom and my sister watched her overnight and today until 3, and we basically have a mess in here now that is not even close to being packed, and I have no idea how I'll do it with her here

Seriously, when I need to do a serious job around the house, I send Noah to his Auntie Rosemary's with a packed lunch, I go home and work like the dickens.

Here is my confession -- I hired a crew to pack my apartment for me the day before our move. We took our daughter out for the day and came back to the entire place in boxes. That was money very well spent!

I thought it was horrible and DS was only 3 weeks old when we moved and he slept like, 20 hours a day!!
If we had had the money, I would have done what Calla did and paid someone to do it...and we had a lot of help!

My oldest was about 10 months when we moved so I know the feeling. I ended up stacking the moving boxes around him to make a play area for him...of course he ended up finding a way to slither over them but it bought me a little time.  Hang in there, it will be worth it.

this is by no means a woo is me highjack...but since baby has been born, I am in apt #3....you soon realize how much junk you have.
THROW EVERYTHING OUT! that's my answer. don't pack it, then it needs to be put on a truck, pulled off a truck, unpacked...

Ugh. I remember doing that with a 6 months old & a toddler. The thought that repeatedly went through my mind is to leave everything behind & start fresh. Then I remembered I was too cheap to do that.

Um, we filled the dumpster in the parking lot today I'm so happy to be tossing sh-t out, we're definitely not married to anything in our place. Most of our things are from when we first moved in together, and I'm totally looking forward to buying much nicer things when we finally find a house. We're even tossing our dining room set and our tv armoire because I am in no mood to lug them with us, and I don't even like them anymore. TO THE GARBAGE!

I went thru this too-thought I was going to lose my mind,
I would pack a box and my son would be right next to me taking everything out!!
take atvantage of grandma as much as you can... thats what grandma's & family are for! lol good luck!

ugh and I was complaining about moving from one resort to another in FL  (and we did it by choice  )
Rachel-are you donating stuff youre getting rid of? there are many places that take stuff right from your front lawn.

Christopher was right around Ava's age when we moved here last year and ugh, what a nightmare. Honestly, I packed the majority of the stuff after he was in bed. I'd lay him in his crib and immediately grab a box and get to it. Over the course of a week, I had the majority of the stuff packed on my own. When we were a couple of days away from moving, we did have help from the Grandmas, especially when it came to moving the boxes to and from the cars. Good luck with your move!

We didn't get rid of it yet, if you want it, let me know and it's yours.
The table and chairs I wouldn't even donate, they are falling apart
We ended up staying up until 3am packing things, and it's still a mess in here. but we officially have progress!

I am doing the same thing right now. I think it is hard enough with a 5.5 month old so I can't imagine it with one that is crawling and walking around!
