It's SO true that sleep begets sleep

Alex goes to sleep most nights at 7pm, wakes up at 1am, and then wakes up for the day at 5am. I'm not complaining - it's a HUGE improvement from just a month ago! But, DH handles the 1am feeding, and our ped told us she's probably just waking out of habit, and suggested that we just "ignore" her, so last night DH did just that. She cried for about 20 minutes, fell back asleep and STAYED asleep until 7am! AMAZING! I love this CIO stuff!! Thats great! And it really is true! Jack is 19 months and still takes two naps a day for about two hours each and goes to bed by 8pm. Without those naps he wakes up in the middle of the night

Question for you - When Alex woke up at 1am was she looking for a bottle?

Who knows Chat Icon For the last month she wakes up at 1am on the dot. She starts with a little fussing and then starts crying. Dh would always go to her and give her a bottle. Some nights she would down the whole bottle in seconds and fall asleep and other nights she would eat only a few ounces. But, it's weird, because no matter what time we put her down she would wake up at 1am - for example, just the other night, we put her to bed late, at 10:30pm - I gave her a bottle and she ate the whole thing and like clockwork she woke up at 1am crying - I think at that point, it was more of habit than anything.

WOW!! Aly did that last night! She went to bed kind of late (we took her out around when she goes to bed) around 9ish and we heard her cry out once, but that was it, then DH Woke up at 7:15am and heard her and went in and she was just lookin' around, smiled at him!

so no wee hour feeding and no crying when she woke up! And she was on her belly!!

DD was waking up consistently at 12am for a bottle, but the last several nights its 3am - She downs the bottle, and sleeps until 7 or 8am. I'm trying to get rid of that night feeding - but maybe she's doing it on her own.... Chat Icon
