Italy in October
We are headed to Italy in October
It was a spur if the moment decision, and we always, always wanted to go.. We're flying into Venice and flying back tto NY from Rome.. all together a total of 8 full days.
Now I have two options with so many days at each..
2 Venice 2 Florence 4 Rome (with a side trip to Capri if possible)
or
1 Venice 2 Florence 5 Rome (side trip to Capri)
I keep juggling both, help please!! We're not looking for a "relaxing" vacation per se, but a semi lesiurely one.
Grazie Mille

Re: Italy in October
Out of your 2 options, I would go with:
2 Venice 2 Florence 4 Rome (with a side trip to Capri if possible)
And October is a fantastic time to go! Weather is great and most of the attractions, sites, museums, etc. are not as crowded as in the summer months.

ITA...I would add a day to Florence to day trip to Siena/ San Gimignano.
3 days in Rome is plenty IMO.
Italy in the Fall is the best

Venice is probably one of my favorite cities so I couldn't do just one day. I would do at least 2.

I agree - Venice is one of my favorite places. I would want at least 2 days there. I loved Florence too but if I had to cut one city shorter (out of Rome, Florence or Venice) I would choose Florence. You can hit the highlights in a day (a very busy day but it can be done).
I went to Italy in October and it was a PERFECT time to go! Enjoy!
