Do we know that for a fact? You can vote multiple times on Idol, so the number of votes does not equal the number of people who voted.

I always vote, but I have found with recent elections is that NEITHER candidate for whatever office really appeals to me, and that I often choose the lesser of two evils.
Not to hijack, but my 73 year old MIL LOVES Jerry Rice and votes for him five times (the max) every week on Dancing with the Stars. I think that's the cutest thing.

You dont have to be 18 to vote for American Idol and you can vote more than once. Neither of which could be said about voting for senator.
