Is your DH a better husband then your dad is?

I always thought my dad was a great husband to my mother, until I got married. Then I started finding flaws in my dad...anyone else?

I don't know if my DH is a better husband. He possesses very different qualities, in terms of personality, which was very important to me, but I don't know if that makes him better, or just different.

My dad and DH are very similar, my dad is just a lot more rough around the edges then DH.

My DH by far!!!

My parents are divorced, but I see how my dad is with his girlfriend and although he certainly does cater to her needs and he is supportive, he could do it with a lot less attitude IMO. My dad is an EXCELLENT father, but if my DH spoke to me the way my dad speaks to his girlfriend sometimes, I'd slug him.

Now this is a tough question for me, becaues I am a huge daddy's girl and in my eyes he can do no wrong. And my parents are truly happy in their 46 year marriage, so obviously he's done something right

However, now that I am older and married, I can honestly see my Dad for the HUSBAND he is (not just see him as my dear Dad) and he isn't ideal in the husband department in a few ways. He was a great provider, always treated my Mom with respect, was a wonderful gift-giver, and was extremely patient with my worry-wart of a Mom. However he was also very old-school, stubborn and set in his ways due to HIS very strict upbringing

My husband, on the other hand - he is all the positive things my Dad is, but so much more than that. So yes I do think he is a better husband than my Dad, but then again we live in very different times than my parents did at this stage in their marriage

Yep, Fh is by far a better husband than my father.

I think that my DH and my dad are very similar. They both have faults (not as many as my mother and I ), but try very hard to make us happy. I always said that I wanted a man like my father and I definitely got one.

Good in different ways. My father was a much better provider, but DH is more fun. But my parents got divorced.

Yes, my DH is a much better husband than my father ever was. My father didn't know how to show his love. Never said it and sure never gave anyone a hug. My DH is the total opposite. Tells me he loves me all the time and hugs me, holds me and is so tender that sometimes I feel overwhelmed.

can't really say...i was never married to my dad...

But my parents are divorced (but married 25 years)
Plus i have only been married about 8 months...

so it is tooo hard to tell

dh and my dad are so different but I would have to say dh is a better husband than my dad.

Al's certainly a better husband for ME than my dad, but I don't know how my mom would vote.

They're still happily married after 38 years but there were some bumps along the way. I think my dad has learned a lot, but he's still much more traditional that I would want my husband to be. He enjoys being "king" of the castle (he had 3 daughters)

My DH is definitely a better husband than my dad was...my parents are divorced and I haven't spoken to my dad in years.

This thread just made me realize that my DH is the complete and utter opposite of my father.

This one's easy for me. My DH is by far a better husband. My dad is a wonderful person, but he s ucked as a husband, from what I remember before their divorce. Unless DH is unfaithful one day, he wins hands down.

I can't vote, I feel they are extremely similar - and even out in their flaws....

DH is most definately a better husband, BUT in his old age, I must admit that my dad's improving. After experiencing a heart problem, he became surprisingly sweet and affectionate towards my mother, which is definately nice to see.

No idea how my Father is as a husband, but since hes been married 4 times, Im gonna venture to say DH based on that fact alone!
