Is today Friday the 13th

Here's how my day went

8:30: get into off. BS for a little with the boss

9am day has begun. Emails are flying, phone started ringing, piles of paper are being thrown on my desk

9:15am I get an email from my boss that she got from her boss who got an email from his boss who got an email from a customer's referal agent complaining that when I told him at 4:45pm on Tuesday he'd have a response by 5pm Wednesday but actually got the email on Thursday morning and it didnt even have the decency to apologize for the delay. Then when the email was received it didnt have enough information. It had a hotel, type of room, rate with taxes and the car rental which he requested. But the email did not mention where it was located, how far it was from the airport, if it had amenities, what size the room is or cancellation policy information.

9:17am I get told drop everything and please do additional research. My boss gave me about 6 Alaska brochures. So I spent the next 2 1/2 hours ignorning my phone and emails and putting together a pretty little email to be sent. The email had 4 different options which included hikes, train tours, cruises and various hotels in different areas of Alaska. I sent it to the one who complained and BCCed all of management so they could see how much time went into it. Time I really dont have but made for this jerk.

12:00 lady calls and wants to receive quotes and book for her customers. I tell her I am sorry she can not do that. Explained why I need to speak to the person who is actually traveling, explained the liability that could happen if she books incorrect travel and advised her to read her policies and procedures. She hangs up, calls back 15 minutes later gets someone else and tells them she's going to report me because I had no right to tell her she couldnt do something. I am wrong and I need to go read policies and procedures.

1pm I get a letter from Carnival inventory control my group got cancelled. I called Carnival and explained no I had an extension on this group it was not to be cancelled. Carnival has no record of this and unsure if they could reinstate the cruise. I tell them who I spoke to in inventory control and it's been extended. Argued with Carnival for 35 minutes. Cruise reinstated.

1:45p email sent from the manager to me and someone else about an issue that was not resolved from Feb and the person is threatening to take the company to small claims court. So I have to get all my paperwork justifying my side and that from a certain point on I had no part in the issue and the other person was taking full responsibility.

2:25pm I get asked to assist 2 people in downloading something on the computer and help someone else with a booking. Get told by manager I need to book a hotel for a VIP and that someone else is looking for a hotel for Wednesday. Email also sent to manager advising I need specific credit card information that needs to be faxed to a hotel for authorization.

3:00pm finally get to look at 1 email. and then the phones were ringing like crazy. I think I hung up on someone because I was so crazy and hungry.

4:00p ask boss if it's ok to take a break. I havent taken a break or lunch all day and I need to get away from my desk.

4:15 back at the desk and scream I QUIT! and just start laughing

5:30pm suppose to leave. Got stuck doing a hotel booking because the person who started the booking has to leave exactly 5:30. So I had to do the booking and invoice it.

6pm 30 min O/T and I bolted from that building so fast you would have thought it was on fire.

Sorry for long, I am glad tomorrow is another day

Today was suppose to be a good day. One person is leaving and in her honor we had kool aid day. (It's an inside joke she had with a few of us) We had everyone bring in snacks and hors di vours. I think I actually got to enjoy something on my break at 4pm

The good news is the company hired 4 new people who are starting on Monday and they are going to fire this one person who annoys everyone. She doesnt even speak to us but hearing her talk on the phone makes you want to throw things at her. She'll be gone by the end of the week
