Is this weird? Re: names
I already have my boy names picked out but am not 100% sure about girl names. DS's name is Tyler and I have always like the girls name Taylor. DH said if it's a girl he is not naming her Taylor b/c it sounds silly (actually he didnt put it so nicely ), Tyler and Taylor. I never even thought of it that way

I wouldn't say it is weird, but the 2 names definitely coordinate (I think Taylor is the female form of Tyler.) I think people will def. get the impression the you picked Taylor because it goes with Tyler. Personally, I love both names and don't really think there is anything weird about it.

i don't know that 'weird' is the word i'd use - but i wouldn't do it.
think of when angry at the kids - you'll call taylor tyler and tyler taylor....etc. i think that would get annoying (to me at least)....
when dave's sister gets mad at her oldest - she STILL calls him Dave sometimes (no joke - it's rather funny  )...

I really like both names, but I wouldn't do it. It's JMO, but I'm not a fan of coordinating names. However, they're not my kids. If you can convince your DH, there's certainly nothing wrong with it.

our last name starts with BR, and i tried to pick a first name with BR and dh thought it was too "cutesy"

i agree with your DH. they are just way too similar, to me, it's almost like naming your kids the same name, JMO.

My college roomate's name was Gabby and her brother was Gavin they both said it was horrible growing up to have similar names. To me, they are not so similar but I could see a problem when children are young....

It's like those families that have a Michael and a Michelle, I think. People do it, though I don't know if I would.
Funny (sort of related) story. My grandparents had 9 children (yup NINE). They had a Theresa at home when my grandmother went in to have the next baby, which was a boy. My grandmother thought they had agreed to Kevin Terrence. Well, when she woke up (back when they put you out) my lovely grandfather had decided that he didn't like Kevin anymore and named the baby Terrence. And for some ungodly reason both went by Terry So whenever anyone called the house looking for them, the person who picked up always had to ask if they were looking for Terry the Boy or Terry the Girl

I know what you mean...
If this baby was a girl, her name was going to be Riley...
Ryan and Riley....
In the end- I thought it was kinda cool, and it flowed nicely... but since this baby is a  - I dont have to worry about it!

I think they are too similar -
DH is Brian and I LOVED the name Ryan for a boy .........but Brian and Ryan sounded stupid IMO ........-
I think Tyler and Taylor are both great names, but nto for siblings -
