is this true about cutting baby's hair?.....
So MIL told me today that I HAVE to cut DD's hair (once she is 1) or else her hair won't grow full and strong.
Is there any truth to this?
or is this just one of her crazy comments?
I had no intentions of cutting her hair.

Dead hair inches away from the follicle where the hair is produced can't possibly affect the hair production at the follicle (I guess if the hair is down to DD's feet, the weight of the hair may have an effect....)
This is a similar myth to hair growing in thicker and/or courser if you shave, growing faster if you cut it, etc. Not logic behind it, just a myth, and the perception about the new hair.

where I come from they shave the baby's hair once they turn one to get rid of the "birth hair" so they can get fuller and nicer hair,lol. Thank God my mom never did, but some parents do. It's just a myth.

We do it in my culture/religion. DH and I shaved DS's head at 3 months. We wanted it to grow back by his naming ceremony so that he'd have hair for his photos. I had mine done as an infant and we're planning on doing baby #2's as well.
