Is this stroller overkill?

OK I'm not supposed to be touching my registry but I can't help itChat Icon My sister will rip me a new one tomorrow when she shes the changes

DH & I decided we are going to get the bugaboo. I put it down on my registry....I don't think anyone will buy it and I hope no one does because it is alot of $$$ but we have it there for the 10% completion program. We are going to splurge on this one item being that we don't have to buy furniture for the babies room since we are using my nephews crib and his changing table and my Mom is buying us the glider.

Then I have down a snap and go for our infant car seat....it was a toss up between this and the graco car seat adaptor. Both are about the same price however the snap n go has more stroage room.

Now I have a Pliko P3 circa 2003 that is a hand me down from my sister. It's a beautiful stroller in excellent condition however you need two hands to close it.

Now I'm debating on whether or not to put down the Graco Metrolite Heirloom for trips to the mall and for vacation. I'm obviously not going to take a $250 or $800 strolller on vacation with me because I know alot of times the airlines mess up the strollers and I like the fact that the Metrolite can be closed with one hand and has great storage access for trips to the mall.

Is this stroller overkill? We live in the city so the bugaboo is going to be for walks and trips around the area etc. I read that its' not practical to close up and take to the mall etc....that is why I figured the Metrolite is a good option plus it got great reviews. I'm just worried that this is stroller overkill. WWYD? TIA!

Re: Is this stroller overkill?

which baby store does a 10% completion program??

i registered for and got 3 strollers...the peg perego UNO, the Maclaren Quest, and the kolcraft car seat carrier...

i would put them on, why not? someone may or may not buy them, but if its what you want register for it. if its a big item, people can always buy it together as a group gift...

Yes, I think its a little overkill. Sorry! If you want to buy the Bugaboo yourslef, you can always add it to your registry after your shower and it will still be part of the completion program.

Re: Is this stroller overkill?

I posted a very similiar question over on parenting when I got my bugaboo as a surprise gift at my shower. Pretty much all the mothers who had the bugaboo, said not to keep the snap & go, and get the adapter instead. I ended up having 4 strollers at my shower. I got the base for the bug, and its really easy to use.

I'm not sure if it's overkill.

I have the snap and go and the metrolight. I plan to use the snap and go while she is in the car seat. When she outgrows that, I'll switch to the metrolight.

It's overkill b/c you simply don't need that many things.

If you want the metrolite, take the Bug off your registry and add it later and put the Heirloom travel system on and take off the snap and go. Or leave the Bug and that's it. I'd just take the snap and go off altogether.

I have the metrolite travel system in Delancy and I don't feel like I missed out not having a snap and go. The stroller folds up nicely and I've moved it around a lot switching cars, etc.

If I REALLY don't feel like dealing with it, I use my bjorn.

Don't forget, the Bug with the car seat adaptor is EXACTLY the same as a snap and go.

I have 5 strollers so I say no it is not overkill.

I have one heavy duty one, one lightweight one, one for my parent's summer house, I just bought my MIL one and I have an umbrella stroller.

Re: Is this stroller overkill?

I think the Metrolite may be overkill. I live in Brooklyn and we have the Bugaboo, the snap-n-go and the Macleran.

This is similiar to u except for the Metrolite.

I love my Bugaboo and it has been worth its $$ with all the into and out pf stores and city streets.

The snap-n-go storage cant be beat.

We havent used the Macleran yet, but plan to when DS is a little bigger

Re: Is this stroller overkill?

I don't know. I registered for a jogger, the metrolite and a lightweight almost umbrella stroller. My MIL is bugging me to put the snap and go on registry also, but I simply feel it is overkill, we will just buy it, LOL. It's hard because I feel like I don't know what I need. But I am just going to leave as is. What we don't get, but want, we will buy.

PS. Good advice to add things to regustry after shower for the 10%...I was thinking of adding some things just for this benefit, but did not want to kill my registry..thjis is perfect solution.

ITA. You don't need that many strollers.

If you really want the bugaboo, I would chose between the snap n go and the metrolite.

I would personally pick the metrolite over the snap n go because you will have more use out of it.
