Is this normal?

About a week before my BFP I was cramping which felt like my period was coming. The cramping is still happening. It's not terrible, and I'm not spotting or anything but is this normal? The cramping isn't one one particular side or anything, it's just a general overall feeling, still like I'm getting my period.

Also, is it to early to start having an aversion to some foods? I think I'm having it to tomato sauce because after and/or while eating pizza and pasta I've started to feel sick. Im still a little congested from a cold so I'm hoping that's the reason. Id hate to go through pregnancy not being able to eat pizza and pasta!

FYi, my first doc appointment is next Monday. I'm about 5 weeks right now.

Re: Is this normal?

Yes I think so, I had cramping for a while & occasionally now.. also I have lost my taste for MANY foods that I have always loved. In fact the thought of most types of food makes me feel sick.

Congrats! Yes, as pp said cramping could be a indication that you aren't drinking enough water.

it's so funny that you are having an aversion to pasta and pizza. Pasta and pizza are the main things I crave. I could eat pasta and pizza all day, but only since about 5 weeks pregnant.

It's normal. I was cramping for a while and couldn't eat pasta for the first trimester. I got my first aversion to pasta at around 4 weeks -- basically the few days before I got my BFP! I thought it was because I was sick, but I couldn't eat it even after I got over my cold. That food aversion went away and now I'm happy eating pasta again! Only one of my aversions (taquitos or anything rolled -- eggrolls, spring rolls, etc.) has stayed throughout the pregnancy!

Re: Is this normal?

Cramping is normal and I had an aversion to tomato sauce... Too much flavor for me... I remember taking one bite of baked ziti early on and wanting to puke... I also couldn't take any meats whatsoever. So my first tri diet consisted of bland pasta Chat Icon I made up for what I missed once 2nd tri hit though Chat Icon

Is this normal?

Yep!! happened to me too. I had a bloating /crampy feeling on and off my pregnancy so far. Its your uterus stretching most likely. just try and drink plenty of water it will help! I was actually lucky and didn't have any food aversions.. I kept waiting for them to come but never did.. Sometime's I wish I didn't eat everything so I would stop gaining wait!! lol.

With both pregnancies I cramped for the first 12-14 weeks. It is totally normal. It has nothing to do with dehydration, drinking water won't make it stop, it's your uterus growing and stretching to accommodate the new baby. Everything is shifting and changing in that first trimester.
