Is this normal?
My DS is 4 months old. Twice now, while he was sleeping he has begun crying/sobbing. His eyes are shut and appears to be sleeping. Last night this happened and he was quietly crying and sobbing. He was crying so much he was trying to catch his breath. I picked him up and rocked him a bit thinking it might calm him down. He eventually woke up, wailed, had real tears and all and look slightly scared. He fell back asleep and woke up fine this morning.
Could it be a nightmare? Something else? I felt so bad for him, he looked so upset!

Re: Is this normal?
It happens. DS just turned 2 and it still happens occasionally. Just rub his back and try to comfort him. I'll pick DS up if that doesnt help to soothe him.

Happens here too....I will wake up to Brian crying in the middle of the night, and when I check on him he is still sleeping. I would like to think it's not a nightmare (b/c that makes me so sad) but it probably is
