Is this considered tattling?
So today after school we went to our local indoor play centre with two other mothers & their kids, the daughter of one of the ladies is albino and is seriously visually impaired, she wears glasses, but still can't see perfectly.
So after an hour or so Noah came to find me in the cafe and said "Mummy, whats the name of the girl in my school?" I told him and he said "Well, a naughty boy has stolen her glasses" so her mother went to check and yes, a very nasty boy had snatched her glasses and thrown them into the ball pit.
Anyway, when I told my mother, she called it Tattling and my husbands reaction was also that he tattled. However, I was very proud that he had the good sense to know that something was wrong and he had the guts to come and tell us. Do you consider this tattling? Did everyone else just over react?

I don't consider it tattling. He wasn't looking to get anything out of it for himself - he was looking out for another little person. I'd be very proud.

This is what I tell my students...
If you're telling to help someone it's "reporting."
If you're telling to hurt someone or cause trouble, it's "tattling."
I'd say this was reporting.

I'm with PB:
I usually say it's not tattling if someone is hurting you or someone else.

Re: Is this considered tattling?
I don't think it was tattling...something bad was happening to someone else and he went and told an adult...to me that's responsible and you should be very proud.
If someone is doing something wrong that isn't harming anyone else and they tell...to me that's tattling.
