Is this a possible sign a tooth is coming?

Forgive me for being ignorant. DS has been teething for a few months now. His biting has definately gotten stronger. (I know because I BF) I'm always checking his gums because I'm obsessed.

Well, in the past few days I've noticed the outline of his two bottom front teeth. It is plain as day, but it's the outline. You can see it from the front of his gums.

You're probably thinking ' Kelly, it looks like that when every baby is born. There's no difference from birth to what he has now ' Was this there before and I missed it or are the teeth on the move? Did you notice anything before the tooth popped through? TIA!

yeah, that's a sign. DS just cut his first tooth this week & has that "outline" right next to it

So, the outline shows through the front of the gum? I don't see anything up top yet.

I am teething obsessed as well - I want some excuse to blame my son's crankiness this past week has been hellish. Anyway, I know with my first son - at like 5 mos - I saw the outline of the teeth thru the gums (not the top - like the pictures above) and the dr was like look at all these teeth coming in - well - didn't push thru until 13.5 months old!!! From 6 mos on - he showed every sign of teething but no teeth. Same thing is going on now with #2, but I have no clue if he'll get them early or be on the same schedule as #1.

I have no clue what normal teething is like but typically when you see the outline on top of the gums - that is when they are close to pushing thru. Hope you are getting teeth and they pop thru painlessly!!

Great pics ABCiverson!!!!!!! Now I will be obsessed to take them as well!!!

But now with the above post saying it took numerous months after that outline, I don't know what to think. What else could be hurting me so much when he feeds?

OMG- DD has this too. You can't see them from the top of her gums yet, but you can see them from the front- and you can definitely feel them!
