is this a good prcie for carpet?
room is 16X9 - homedepot the basic carpet that can be installed in 72 hours... not like the usual 3 weeks....
for a basic plush carpet with extra thick padding it would $470 plus tax
is that good or bad?

We had HD do our 20x11 - stainmaster carpet for just about 700 (total with tax) w/ the extra thick padding. - so that's about $3.10 sq/ft
vs $3.25 for basic carpet.
We may have gotten it through a sale though.
