Is there such a thing(plant related)

as a website that lists all the plants that are good in your area. I live in 6B according to the lowe's website when I put my zip code in. It did list 5 of them, but I didn't like any.

Re: Is there such a thinkg(plant related)

I just saw a book at Barnes and Noble with plants, shrubs and trees that do well for NY. It's called "Best Garden Plants for New York State" by Maria Cinque. It seems like a good place to start for a beginner (like me). The one thing I noticed was there was nothing in there for Long Island specifically, which I imagine, can grow a few more plants than upstate.
