is there anyway to fix the nights/days confusion?

Most of the time DD is ok with her sleeping, but lately she has been up pretty much all night and I am dying of sleep deprivation - I only got 3 hours last night!!!! Then she'll sleep all day.

Is there anything I can do to help change her sleeping schedule? Do I just try to keep her up during the day?

My LC told me that if you take her out for a walk in the stroller between 12-3 every day, it helps to reset their "clock". Try it and good luck!

We tried to really exaggerate the light during the day and the darkness at night. Naptime during the day was done without pulling down the shades and nighttime sleeping was in a totally dark room.

Also, I don't know if you use one but we got a sound machine to put white noise in their rooms at night, and that really helped.

My ped. believes that any tricks to teach them will only work after they are about 6 weeks old.

We had a couple of tough days, and then she kinda just figured it out on her own. She still sleeps until noonish, but will give us a good 4-6 hour stretch at night.

Well, we did similar to what a pp stated in that we'd make diaper changes and feedings and what not really fun and exciting during the day. Let her sleep in the pack n play with the tv going during the day, etc. Then, at night, it was strictly business. No lights, no eye contact, no talking, no tv, etc. It worked for us.

this is pretty much what i've been doing and it seems to be workingChat Icon ..well, there is lights on, and sometimes a tv, but i do try to make it seem different then during the day
