Is there anything safe to take for constipation?
Sorry for the TMI- but I seriously average 2x per week for #2 and it hurts to go 
Is there anything I can take for this?!?

I agree about colace. You can also take senekot with that to help things along.
If times get desperate you can take milk of magnesia too.
My OB has approved all 3.
Do something now, don't wait ... It could lead to hemmies from the straining. TMI, I know, but trust me!

Yup and yup!!!
Seriously... Down about 50-60oz of water like it's your mission in life first thing in the morning. When I did for blood work I was having, I couldn't RUN to the bathroom fast enough!! And that was after weeks of painful constipation.
You need to take Colace 3x/day for out to work right. It helps, though! Feel better!

I third this!!! Make sure you take it 3x a day for it to work properly. You will be glad you took it!! My doctor approved it! I am on hospital bedrest and that is what I am getting!

I am so glad you posted this topic. I have been going crazy with the same problem. I have tried prune juice and fiber one bars but it doesn't help. I also took Milk of Magnesia a few times but that didn't help either. It is such an awful feeling. A lot of my friends swear by Colace so I bought it last night. Hopefully it works! I would say to try that first and drink a lot of water---that was the advice I was given. Good luck!
Oh and Make sure you get the stool softener and not the laxative type bc they are next to each other on the shelf.

i'm slightly lactose intolerant so when i want to go i will drink milk or eat ice cream the night before. I also get thirsty in the wee hours so I keep water in my room and that helps me go every morning.
