Is there any way to get a discount on a Medela Pump?

Or, is it just about your registry completion coupon?

Honestly, I would probably rent one from the hospital for a month or 2 to make sure you want to stick with it and then go and buy one.
I registered for it and received with my first. I BF and pumped then developed mastitis and ended up stopping all together. In total I only did for it 6 weeks. Then I had my DD thinking I would get use out of it. I EBF her because she refused to take a bottle so I only used it when I had a clogged duct.

They do send out BRU coupons and BBB so you could always use those but I am not sure if their are exclusions or not.

I got the $30 Medela Harmony Pump so if the breasts gets engorged or if DH wants to help bottle feed the baby with breastmilk, he can do so after I've pumped.

It's also more portable if you want to carry it from or two work...

If you want the electric one you can also find a new Medela PIS Advance on ebay.com for $100 off...

I agree with a PP. I would rent one first and then if you can BF then buy one. I bought one and ended up not being able to BF. Waste of money.

i think for the amount of money they charge to rent one, you may as well buy one new...JMO
i suggest getting a brand new one from ebay..Itll cost you about the same, and youll actually own it, and be able to use it again, or sell it...
people will DEF buy them, you just have to change the hardware

Re: Is there any way to get a discount on a Medela Pump?

Does anyone know where to get new attachements, hardware, etc.? My friend said she'd give me her's if she was done with it-- I kinda feel like I just want my own though.

After taking a BF class yesterday, I kinda want it in the hospital just to get a free tutorial from a lactation consultant...

Just trying to determine *when* I need it, and if there is ever a coupon or whatever I can use.

I bought mine from BRU. You can use their coupons on it. I was able to use a 20% off coupon, then a 15% coupon. It came to under $200 for the Pump in Style. They said as long as the two coupons are different (ie. not two 20% or two 10% or whatever) you can combine. HTH!

You can only return it unopened for 45 days so I would make sure BFing goes okay before investing. GL!

You can get new parts at BRU. As for using it in the hospital, your milk may not even come in during your stay. It can take anywhere from a day or two up to 5 days. If it does and you become engorged, I believe most hospitals have a pump there (many use a Medela or something similar) and can probably give you a tutorial.

You can win one on Ebay at least 100 cheaper than in the store.

I was going to use a BBB coupon, but this sounds better!! Where did you get the BRU coupons?

BRU is giving out the coupons , including the 15% ones, for those who shop at their stores lately...

I've gotten at least 3 recently. Their $10 off two packages of diapers really bring the cost down.

This situation happened to me....DD & I were released from the hospital on Thursday but Friday DD was readmitted & I stayed with her. While I was there, I got engorged and the nurse bought me a hospital pump to use while I was there.

Go to the gift shop at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jeff. I bought mine there and it was like $70 cheaper than BRU.

Call your insurance and see if they have a benefit for a breast pump.... I haven't tried it yet, but I know others who have had success with getting a pump this way.
