Is there an annual increase at your daycare
I drop Mollie off this morning, and since it's the first day of the month, I hand in my check. I am informed that there is a 4% annual increase, and was given a post-it with the new amount. I asked if there was any kind of letter, or communication stating that there will be an increase and how much it would be and I was told no, nothing was handed out So, how was I to know I should write my check for a different amount?
Let me say this...the daycare was bought out by a new owner over the summer...all the teachers and polices have remained mostly the same, so DH and I decided that we would stick with it. Now...DH is so pizzed off he wants to change daycares
It's only about a $30 increase...so I'm not annoyed at the increase...just the way it was handled was kind of shady. Do your daycares have annual increases? If so, are you notified of them?

Re: Is there an annual increase at your daycare
yes. We were notified about 6 weeks ago when we were given the new contract to sign and had to pay the $150 deposit. It was a standard $50 increase to the monthly amount we pay. New rates were effective September 1st.
That's not right that they didn't inform you ahead of time. I'm not sure it would prompt a change in daycare if all else is fine because I'm pretty sure most daycares have an increase in September. I'd just mention to them that it would be nice if next time there is more notice or just notice at all.

ITA...I know that it's probably "standard", but if you knew my DH, you would know he likes to make mountains out of mole hills

There is but we were notified months ago what the percentage was and told that it would be in effect for September and even got a letter about a month ago telling us our new payment.

Yep. We went up another $10 a week starting today. They sent out a letter about 2 weeks ago. We got it after we filled out the annual income for food help forms, so I was expecting it. They raised it last year in Sept also, but it was only $5 a week then.
