Is there a site where you can find out how long a house has been on the market and what the original asking price was when it first went on?
Just curious...
I tried to do a search on here and couldn't find if this had been posted before.

no, only real estate agents can get this information.
the closest you can do is go onto MLSLI and sort by listing. The lower the listing #, the longer it has been on the market. The newest listings start with 191... so figure about 1000 a month give or take and that should tell you about when lisiting first came on the market.

On Newsday.com it will give you recent home sales, but its only current until August right now I think, so its not that useful.

You can sort of tell by the MLS number, but not always. Some people pull their homes off the market and relist, getting a new number. So it looks like a new listing, but it's not really.
If you are working with a realtor, I would ask them. They will tell you.

There is- you can look up any home, find out how much is was purchased for and when.
I'll have to look it up, then I'll post it.
