Is their a norm

For how many eggies they take out of me for the retrieval?

So far they have counted 10 on the left and 10 on the right all over 10, they said that there could be more...

Whats the norm?

I retrieved more than the u/s. They saw 8 on the u/s and they got 13!

Everyone is different. I went thru 3 IVF cycles and had 7, 11, & 14 retrieved. The last two times I had more retrieved than they expected.

Ohhhhh Ok... Thats what I was thinking...

I thought what they counted was kind of a lot... so I was thinking that maybe they recounted the same ones over!?!?!?

Who knows, we will only know until the retrieval...

Thanks girls!

Re: Is their a norm

If you have PCOS it's very common to produce a lot of eggs.
I have always had "too many to count" by the 8th day of stimming. Please make sure your RE is monitoring you very closely as you don't want to end up with OHSS.
For the record, I have had 49 and 55 eggs retrieved, so it's not impossible for them to get a lot of eggs. The bad part is you are at an extremely high risk for OHSS with that many eggs. In my case, I had severe OHSS with the 49 egg retrieval and no OHSS at all with the 55 egg retrieval.

Good luck to you!!!Chat Icon

Re: Is their a norm

Well I don't remember how many they counted during stimming, but there was always a lot. At retrieval they got 38 eggs and I don't have PCOS Chat Icon So for me they got more then they counted and I too was at risk for OHSS (luckily I was able to avoid the worst of it).
