is the 2 year well check a long appt?
I can't remember if it's a long appt or not from DC#1. Do they get shots?

No shots at 2. I am not sure what you mean by long. To me, all well visits are about the same amount of time- except if they do shots but that's just a few min more

Re: is the 2 year well check a long appt?
ok, good, thanks!
Our usual visits are about 20 min long but I think I remember being there for an hr or so one time (maybe at the 1 year well check?) & I wanted to make sure this wasn't going to be that kind of long appt. Since there are no shots, I'm assuming we'll be in & out.

DD just had hers this week. They did a finger prick lead test, quick vision and hearing tests, and then just the typical stuff. She was behind on shots so she did get two. No longer than any other well checks for us.

DS just had his 2 yr checkup 2 weeks ago- he had to get a finger prick for the CBC, a TB test and a vaccination. He is still talking about how "doc Jassey gave boo boos" lol. The shots took 5 min, I thought overall the well visit was fast, but all was status quo so we didn't have many question

I had shots but that was because we were behind when DS was sick one time.
All my visits are the same no matter what they do.

DS's 2 year visit was longer then all his others. They "tested" him on his different skills. Like being able to identify pics in books, colors, shapes stuff like that. Definitely his longest well visit.

At 2? Wow. At 3 they asked my DD to draw a circle but that was it. 2 is young to have to identify colors, shapes etc. It's not even a milestone until between 3 and 4 I thought.

oh wow, interesting. My Ped has never tested my kids on milestones ever. The most they have done was ask me questions about milestones though.

Maybe it wasn't shapes but he definitely was asked to point out animals in a picture book and was asked if he knew there names.
