Is selling an iPhone on eBay safe?
The older 3G models are going for so much I feel like its a scam. I listed mine for 75$ and bidding is over 170 now! Is this normal? Are they tryin to steal some hidden info I can't erase?

Perfectly safe. My 3GS just got almost $200  Just make sure it's completely wiped and you're good.

I sell lots of phones on ebay and never had a problem. Call your cell phone provider and they can tell you how to wipe it clean, there is usually an option under the security part of your menu.

DH does this all the time. He explained to me that, without a contract, even older iphones (and especially the newer models) sell for $300-$400 or MORE when bought through the companies, so you can usually get a nice amount when selling on ebay. Perfectly safe!!

No scam, a lot of people buy them from another country or to send to other countries because is a lot cheaper even at $200 +

I would make sure you write down your serial number before shipping it. Lots of folks will claim something doesn't work, then pull a switcheroo and get a refund from paypal.

I've sold all my older iPhone models and have gotten top dollar for them. I even sold a cracked old one and got alot for it.. Most of the buyers were out of the country. (I jailbroke the phones too)

Just make sure if the total (price + shipping) is $250 or greater you request SIGNATURE confirmation. Not just delivery confirmation.
Also if you ship internationally, use Express Mail International EMS (not Priority).
