Is or was anyone elses child obsessed with...
the phone?
I mean either a toy phone, the real phone or anything that somewhat resembles a phone?
Charlie will carry it around (his toy FP phone) for hrs. On Christmas MIL gave him a real phone to play with and I wanna say he had it for 2hrs straight, pressing the buttons, saying "hello" into it, just standing there playing with it. He would put it down but only for a few mins, then go right back to it.
He also will do this with a calculator, the remote. Yesterday he did it w/his spoon at dinner, held it up against his ear and said "hello?"
is my boy crazy?!  he is almost 16mos....and I am not on the phone THAT often that he would pick this up from me!!!!!

Same here.
DH taught them how to pick up the play phones and say... "Heh-WOAH"... Just like his 95 year old Jewish grandfather
and "Hey, Laaaaaaayyyyy-DEE" like Jerry Lewis...

Yes! Since she was about 12-13 months. She used to have pretend conversations and they all went the same. "Hello, how are you? Good. ok.ok. Bye." Now everytime I'm on the phone she wants to talk too.

DD is only 6 months but whenever i am on the phone and holding her she will stare at the phone and try to grab it. sometimes when shes cranky i let her hold it to keep her busy. we bought her a play phone and she loves that too.

ETA: When she first crawled, it was because she wanted to get to the remote on the floor. No joke!

Mine is obsessed with phones and remotes. I do not even know how he figured out about talking into the phone because I wear a headset whenever I speak on the phone, even for a minute.

D LOVES the house phone and our cell phones. She has two old cell phones that she plays with. She is constantly pretending to be on the phone when it rings or when she sees someone else talking on the phone at home or in the stores. It is too cute! She even laughs as if the conversation is funny!

Yes!! She just got a Dora play flip phone and she "talks" on it all day. At one point today she had the phone up to one ear and the remote up to the other

my son thinks everything is a phone....the real phone, remote control, random cheerio on the floor, wire to the monitor, the monitor itself, the washcloth, my hair, his sippy cup, the cat's tail, DH's boots, shoelaces.
Get the picture.
I mean EVERYTHING.
And his version of hello is "boo-wah".
So cute! But i thought he was borderline obsessive about it but I guess not.
ETA - and everytime we're out and he see's a phone (at a restaurent, doctor's office, etc) he freaks out and wants it.
On Halloween I took him to my office to visit. I let him play with my desk phone. When we went to leave he had a complete meltdown to the point where I had to "borrow" the receiver for the weekend and take it home to spare the crying fiasco as I walked past the CEO's office with my screaming monster. Otherwise i normally would just let him cry about it until he forgot.

Yes, phones, especially cell phones and ones he hasn't seen before and the remote. He is actually over our house phones - but there was a time when he was obsessed with them. Oh and if he hears the phone ringing he will pick up whatever he is playing with, pretend it is a phone and say "hi"

Oh yes! He still is! He used to say hello on the computer mouse, my ipod, anything small. Now he knows what to do with the mouse and ipod so he's obsessed with them too!

Yes, DD has been obsessed with the phone for months, and if we're on the real phone she wants to play with it when we're done with it.
Over the summer, she accidentally called 911  while sitting on DH's lap...he didn't know until they called back saying they got a hang up from our number Now we try to not let her use it

DS has been obsessed with the phone since he was five months. Started out with smiling at it, now he grabs it and "talks" into it. So cute.
