is laying on your back a BIG no no?
I just read on some posts that ladies were talking about not laying on their back, or not sleeping on their back. I never heard of this, so the same thing goes for BD'ing? I shouldnt be laying on my back??

Re: is laying on your back a BIG no no?
my dr said the most 'optimal' position was on your left side but said if you are comfortable on your back or right side that it was OK.
now- at 40 weeks pregnant, i am only comfortable on my side, if i lay on my back it is too much weight.

My OB said whatever way I am comfortable. But if my pressure was to go up I would have to lie on my left side. It never did so I laid on my back almost the entire time.

They say laying on your side is best. When I was pregnant with DS, I couldnt lay on my back at all the last month b/c I would start to black out. You have a major artery that runs through your body and DS was positioned in such a way that he would literally cut off blood flow if I layed on my back.

You will see- it will start to be uncomfortable. I slept anyway I wanted until I got big (for me - that was month 8 )

Re: is laying on your back a BIG no no?
Laying on your side, expecially the left, provides the best blood flow to the uterus. If you lay on your back for a while it can restrict blood and Oxegyn flow and can harm you and the baby. I don't think that applies to watching a tv show on your back... but you should try not to sleep on it. I was told if you wake up on your back, no biggie... just roll on your side and go back to sleep...... If only going back to sleep was so easy!
Honestly I wake up on my back all the time. I am so much more comfortable that way. It takes the pressure off my hips. But, I don't think it's such a big deal.
