Is it to late? Returning a call from an employer
I emailed an employer about a position. I thought they hadn't replied back but I just now saw the reply in my spam folder from Friday evening (8pm) asking me to give them a call to set up a interview.
My spam folder has over 25+ things in it (I accidentally applied to a fake wanted ad and my email got spammed.) so I didn't even think to check for a reply back there. Usually I send an email and call but this employer requested emails only.
Now I'm not sure if I blew it. It looks terrible that i let 3 days go by without a call. I don't know if it's a good idea to call and give a excuse because I don't want to present myself as someone who starts with the "see what happen was..."
What should I do?

this past Friday? i dont see why that would be too late... i cant imagine that they would expect a call over a holiday weekend

They emailed you at 8 pm on a Friday night before a holiday weekend. I'm sure they were not around to receive a call if you had called.
Call them today and don't mention anything about the spam folder or waiting 3 days to return their email.

I would call back today. It was a holiday weekend, so I think it's perfectly acceptable to not answer until today.

If you got the email at 8pm on a Friday night of a holiday weekend, I don't think it is too late to reply at all.

8pm on a Friday seems like the last call of the night. I am sure they were closed the last 3 days and if not it was a Holiday weekend.
Today would be the day to reply.

No, I don't think it is too late. That happened to me once too. I was honest and told them what happened, and just made sure to demonstrate my enthusiasm in the email.
