Is it tacky to plan your own baby shower?
I have so many excellent ideas. I want to be able to do it my way! Please share your thoughts!

i think there is a difference b/w helping to plan and planning, and certainly b/w planning and hosting.
has someone offered to host one for you?

Yes, and I really don't want to be mean, but this person does not throw pretty good parties. I just mentioned to her that hubby and I want to plan it all ourselves.

I don't think I would throw my own shower. I helped a little in the planning of my shower but I would never be the host-but that's just me.

NO, I wish I had some say in mine. The only thing I would have changed is the date, my shower was about 3-4 weeks b4 I was due. I was a nervous wreck bc my Dr kept telling me he thought I was going to go early

I did all the planning and then had the invites say it was being thrown by my parents just so people wouldn't talk smack.

I have been helping my mom, who is hosting. It is different than a bridal shower, since there is no bridal party to do the planning! My aunts, sisters in law, and MIL are all out of state, so they couldn't really help out. I just felt bad that my mom had so much to do, so I am working on it with her - and it is fun!

I don't think so. I think some ppl might think it is. My mom is hosting mine, but I have been way more involved then she would like. I picked the invitations, the venue, the menu, the favors. I am making up for my bridal shower being a surprise.

I planned the entire thing, but said my mom and MIL were the hosts because they did help with some expenses.

I would LOVE to help plan mine, but I'm not allowed  . My MIL is hosting the shower but SIL and DH's cousin are doing most of the planning. I know the date and place, and the only thing I was allowed to see was the invite.
So obviously I don't think it's tacky at all!

Crashing-- I planned my own shower. My DH gave me the money and I planned it with my sister's help. She bought three small centerpieces, wrote out the invitations and dealt with all of the rsvps. It was very nice and just the way I wanted it!

Hi, I am planning my own shower, but not voluntarilty. My mom is "too busy for it". I dont want people to think im wierd so on the invite I will have to put thats its hosted by her... even though its not.
