Is it silly to assume I can continue teaching yoga....
right until the end? I teach like 10/11 classes a week. I DON'T do each class full out; I walk and assist, etc. (I feel like teachers who do the whole class and don't even look up are really just exercising with the group!) But anyway, I feel great. I just know things can happen. The money is nice and of course it helps out as we prepare. I just wonder if it was very lofty of us to assume I can teach all the way. Then I plan to take 6-8 wks off and return on a limited schedule. (however sometimes I wish I still worked in an office just because of the clothes. Fitting into my yoga wear not always so fun when you're getting bigger!) But I swear my attendance is up. I think ppl just want to check me out each week. LOL

I would ask the doctor. I think you probably could as long as you limit what you actually do in class.

I don't know because you are obviously in way better shape than me. But, I think it would get pretty difficult towards the end. I can barely walk across the room without being ready to pass out!

I will talk to her. I just always think it's tough for people who don't actually "do" yoga. They assume that I'm actually exercising a million hours a week. I'll talk to her....I probably personally practice 3 times a week.

Hey you! Great to hear from you; you are exactly the type of person I needed to hear from because not many ppl seem to know. I know Jenn at Absolute taught right up until the end, but some other teachers are saying they started having contractions early and had to stop. Ahhh.....

I think you can do it! You are in better shape than probably 99% of pregnant women
and working in an office and being preggo is not so easy either- I think we can agree not being able to fit into clothes on either side suckssss lol

One of the women at my gym was teaching body flow (which is the Gold's equivalent of yoga / pilates / tai chi / etc) until her due date. She was 10 days late with her son (it was her third).
I don't see why you couldn't. Just listen to your body.

well my plan is definitely to go to the end. even with my own practice. hopefully the baby agrees, he does so far and i've been teaching in a 87 degree room.

Re: Is it silly to assume I can continue teaching yoga....
Hey - two of my yoga teachers taught until they gave birth I swear. . one literally taught a class two days before she went into labor. . the other until about a week before so I think it depends. .
but like you, they didn't practice during class, they assisted. They did some demos but often used students to demos but as this was in anusara classes - that's pretty much the norm anyway. the only thing they really changed I noticed was in doing some of the more strenuous assists which makes sense to me -
