Is it safe to take a stool softner daily?
For the last week Ive been terribly constipated. To the point where Im in tears. Ive suffered from constipation my entire life and I know it gets worse while pregnant. I would like to keep my body working the way it should. Is it safe to take a stool softener on a daily basis? I do try to incorporate fiber in my diet but sometimes thats just not enough. I find once I take a stool softener I go easier. TIA

If you're unsure, ask your Dr, but I've been taking three a day,every day since about 8 weeks and I'm 34 weeks now. My Dr. knows and encourages me to take them if I need to.

I would check with your doctor. Mine said no..she actually told me to lay off the prenatal pills for a day or two instead.
Try a cup of coffee. Starbucks always seems to do the trick
