Is it safe to get a new car washed at the car wash?
Someone told me it's not a good idea to take a new car to a regular car wash (not a hand wash car wash). Is there any truth to this? Something about the finish when it's new. Anyone know?

I never did for the same reason. I just heard it wasn't a good idea. I take to hand wash only!

I didn't trust it.
It's very easy to get swirl marks in the paint.
Even "brushless" or "touchless" places use rags etc to wash and dry. If there is any sand or road debris on the car, the rubbing will scratch the paint or cause swirl marks.
Especially on a black car.
I used to wash my car myself. Make sure you rinse it super super well first to get off any road debris, dirt or sand that can cause scratches and swirl marks when you are washing.
Rinse the sponge often too to avoid the same.

Is it safe to get a new car washed at the car wash?
I do it all the time but I also get my car detailed every few months. No issue, my car is black and it still looks great.

I never heard of this. I had taken mine a few times and it was a lease. No issues when it was returned.

Never heard this about a new car, however... If your car was recently painted (from an accident for instance), wait 30 days to wax & wash.

I've heard of it but never listened. I take my car to a regular car wash once a month depending on how dirty it is and haven't had any issues.
