Is it possible?

Is it possible?

I stayed home from work yesterday because I'm having a very painful period and I couldn't even get out of bed.

When I spoke to my doctor, she said there is a small chance that I did conceive this month and could have had a chemical pregnancy given that I started to bleed 3 days earlier than my expected period. I did take a HPT on Friday at 10 DPO, but it was BFN. Is it possible that if I had taken another HPT either Sat or Sun it could have come up BFP? If I took one now, even though I'm bleeding, would it show a BFP (a faint one?).

I thought of all these questions in the middle of the night and will be running over to the doctors office at lunch time, but is there a way the doctor could test to make sure that AF just came early or if I was indeed pregnant?

Sorry if this makes no sense, but I'm totally confused.

Re: Is it possible?

When I had a chemical pregnancy, my beta was so low that it didn't show on a pregnancy test, so yes its possible you had a chemical. But I can tell you when I started bleeding after the chemical, my AF was no different than any other month, just slightly heavier.

Thank you... I really wish my doctor hadn't even made that comment. I have never had an AF like this before and was completely freaked out yesterday by the amount of blood/clots (TMI I know!) and the severity of the cramps. I lliterally could not move out of bed yesterday. I'm still not feeling 100% today (and it's still a very heavy flow) but I couldn't stay home another day.

Re: Is it possible?

way back before I knew about my PCOS etc I had something similar happen and my dr said the same thing ... she said she could do a blood test to find out for sure, but I, honestly, didnt want to know so I opted not to do it.

Hope you feel better and get some answers!
