Is it ok to wear jeans to
A baby shower..the shower is being held at my nieces house...i was just going to wear nice jeans and a top..I just don't want to buy a new outfit I'm in the process of loosing weight..thanks

I never wear jeans to any event that I received a paper invitation to, but that's just sort of a rule I made up.
You probably won't be the only one in jeans, but I probably would wear a skirt or dress. It's still a party.

If it is at someone's home, I don't see a problem with it. As long as it is dressed up and maybe with a pair of heels or nice flats.

ITA. Though, I still probably wouldn't. I kind of abide by the paper invitation rule, too. Though I'd probably wear leggings with a cute top and boots or cute flats which is really not any fancier than jeans. LOL!

I'm big on jeans, esp dark wash jeans. Love them! With the right top, shoes and accessories, jeans look awesome. If the shower is being held at someone's house, you will most likely be sitting on a couch at some point with a plate in your lap, so be comfortable.

I've done it - if the top is dressy and you're wearing nice shoes and accessories, a nice pair of jeans at a shower in someone's home is fine.

Thanks I really like that paper rule...but the jeans are nice ..I do have a cute top and new flats....I usually would wear a skirt but I'm in the process of loosing weight ...so I'm really not into buying anything new right now.

I'm sorry but I've never been to an event like a shower, seen someone in jeans, and said "OMG I can't believe that person is wearing jeans!" Honestly, I can't believe anyone would care about that. Wear what you want!

Jeans are fine! It's not like you're throwing on a pair of paint splattered jeans and your college sweatshirt! They are acceptable attire for so many events nowadays.

I was at a baby shower two weeks ago and there were many girls with jeans on. And it was held at a restaurant.
I wore leggings; but didnt think twice about the girls in jeans until seeing this post. LOL
So if its at someones house; I cant see anything wrong with it; as long as its dressy and neat......and not sloppy.
