Is it ok to get a 6 year old a gift card
for their birthday? It would be to Toys R Us. What do you think? $25? We don't know him well and he is also still displaced from the storm.

Yes. Most of the gifts my kids get now are gc..25 is appropriate...

I just did the same thing. DD was invited to a birthday party for someone in her class. Since I do not know the boy, we got him a $25 giftcard to Toysrus.

My nephew just had his 7th bday party. He got mostly gift cards from his classmates, and $25 seemed to be the going rate.
