DS is 15 months and I think he just started the terrible twos. The tantrums are crazy and he's such a dare devil. He's is definitely starting to test us already.

i think em is testing this water now....
if we say NO to something she'll cry for a second, to see how we'll react and when we DON'T....she gives up and moves on...

Re: is it normal for a 1yr old to start tantrum already?
DD is 10 months and I swear she's starting with tantrums already.
my MIL already pinned her as "spoiled"
i always swore that wouldnt be my child
if I take something away from her that can harm her she FREAKS. throws herself on the floor, SHRIEKS, cries. my DH can say NO SOPHIA if she's doing something she shouldnt be and she'll stop said behavior. if I say it -- forget it, i swear she looks at me with a snarky face and continues on with said behavior.
DH says I have to be more assertive with her. I dont think I can say/scream NO any louder.
I already feel like a failure, cant wait until she's two

DD is the same way now and was the same way at 10 months... The fact that she started it so young makes me believe it isn't anything I did, its just her nature to behave that way. I don't take her nature being that way as an excuse for the behavior, but I also don't beat myself up over it, you shouldn't either.
When she does this I say no and redirect the behavior, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When the redirection doesn't work I let her cry and work it out herself and its usually very quick (thankfully).
I look at the bright side of her tantrums starting so young, I will be a tantrum expert by the age of two and while all the mothers who have never seen a tantrum before are just starting to deal with it, I'll have lots of tricks up my sleeve and experience to be able to cope with them!!!
