Is it Gas or Constipation?
While I BF my son after a few minutes he starts crying and sometimes fighting to stay on the breast... and then sometimes I'll hear gas come out or poop...
Should I give him mylicon each time he cries like that while BF or is it something else?

more than likely gas. We went through 2 weeks where DS would go 2 whole days without pooping ,then on day 3....he'd poop 4 times!
now we're back to pooping several times a day.

My DD used to poop everytime I put her to the boob in the beginning. BM can have a laxative effect on babies :)
If DC's isn't choking off the breast or arching off suddenly, I say it's gas or just getting used too the digestive system.

I think it's most likely gas because he poops more than 5 times a day.
I fed him this morning at 6 for only about 12 minutes then now at 930 for only 11 minutes which was with two breaks because of the crying.. and I did get a burp out of him

Could it be that he's still hungry and not getting enough milk from you?

He looks like he is gaining weight.. we last saw the ped on the 16th and he had gained 1 lb since hospital discharge on the 8th.. we don't see the ped again till Sept..

It's probably his digestive system maturing....our DS was SO gassy and complainy WHENEVER he was awake....
I swore up and down it was colic. Called the ped (DD was a breeze as a baby so this is all new to me) and she said it was gas and him fighting sleep!
Lo and behold...he was fighting sleep. All the crying leads to them swallowing air which causes the gas.
At 6 weeks...it's finally getting better! His system needed some time to mature and get used to everything.
Also, if it's not EVERY time he's feeding, keep a log of what you are eating....he may be reacting to something you are eating

I was trying to keep track of what I ate when he was spitting up a lot.. thats when I posted about Chocolate.. I have these Chocolate Soy Milks that I like to drink which I stopped and so has his spit up thus far..
Yesterday I was worried but my DH thought it would be fine, we had Ceasar salad... not sure if it was the dressing??
Otherwise, since delivery I really have had no appetite and have been basically eating very simple and plain.. basically sandwhiches all the time; either cream cheese with jelly or cheese and tomatoes..
