Is it a sign?

Last Monday we found out I was pregnant and the same day my grandpa died. When my parents called me to tell me the sad news I wanted to tell them the good news, but felt the time was inappropriate. The next day I shared the news because my sister had already started spreading the word and I didn't want them to hear from someone else. They were thrilled at the news and thought it brought joy in a time of sadness. At the wake on Saturday everyone kept saying how funny life is that one life ends and another begins, and how lucky our baby would be with grandpa looking out from above. Well before the second wake last night, we went out to dinner with my parents, my siblings, and my nephew. Just as the salads came out I lifted my napkin to place it in my lap and under it were two little plastic confetti baby umbrellas, one pink and one blue. I was the only one at the table that had them under their napkin and we all laughed that it was grandpa telling me I was having twins. I doubt that I'm having twins but I think it was his way of saying he knows of the pregnancy and all will go well. We inquired with the waitress about the confetti and she told us there had been a baby shower earlier that day. It's comforting to know that our loved ones still have ways of showing us their around in spirit.

I'm sorry about your grandfather...but that is so sweet to know he is looking down on you!!! I totally believe in signs!

Aaawww! I don't know whether it is a sign or not and it obviously depends what you believe, but I think that is so cute and must have been very heart warming.

PS - I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your grandfather.

It's hard to say if it is a sign, but it's comforting to know that loved ones are still around and maybe they try to communicate with us in some way.

that is so sweet and i'm sure that was his way of letting you know he is watching from up above...i hope he is right with the twins...especially boy and girl, that would be perfect

Okay You have me crying. I too found out I was PG the day my grandpa died. We heard all the same comments and it was a comfort. I think the confetti was a nice sign from your grandpa.

I'm sorry for your loss of your grandfather. I believe there is a spiritual elemnt to this world and that could be your grandfather letting you know he's looking out for and your baby!

I believe in signs and I'm glad you received these. I've received them from my father, who has passed, and always find them as a comfort. He came to me in two dreams since I've been PG and he hasn't done that in a while. In the first dream he congratulated me on the PG right around the time of implantation. I had no idea I was PG. Then, right after we got our BFP he came to me again to ask how I was feeling. I woke up completely soaked in tears from crying in my sleep from that one. I hope he visits again and I hope you get some dream visits too. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
