Is Brody too young to switch from Snugride to rear facing convertible??

Brody is 12 weeks and 18 lbsChat Icon !!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love a fat baby, but my hernias do not. I have to lift him and that seat in and out of my suv a hundred times a day to take Ava to and from school and every place else.

Would you move him to the convertible now?? I just think it might be easier for me, but I want to do right by him also.

As long as he is 5 lbs, he can go into a convertible. I think he qualifies... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Like PP said, most convertible start at 5Lbs. So he could have skipped the Snugride and go directly in the convertible.

Yup, some people use the convertable from day 1. I'm hoping to get through the winter (and for him to get a little more neck control!), but he'll probably be in the convertable by the spring.

You can def switch him now. The only drawback is now you'll have to take him out of the seat when sleeping and likely wake him up. Boy do I miss the infant seat...lol.

I would! I'm getting one soon for Todd Jr, he's 7 months but a chunka munka--lol I can't lift it anymore, Julia was out of hers by 5 months and into a bigger carseat. Chat Icon

Re: Is Brody too young to switch from Snugride to rear facing convertible??

Personally, I would keep the Snugride and just don't carry him in the seat. We just switched DD to the convertible at 13 months and I have to say - I hate that I have to wake her when she is sleeping.

For months I was just carrying her and leaving the seat in the car, unless she was sleeping.
