Is anyone here pregnant after a miscarriage?
I went to have my blood taken today and I'm wondering what I should expect? Do they treat you any different if you're pregnant after a miscarriage as opposed to a pregnancy with no previous miscarriage?

Re: Is anyone here pregnant after a miscarriage?
I am pregnant after a miscarriage.
They don't really treat you differently. If you are going to an RE then you will have extra appts and sono's etc... but a regular OB will most likely treat you the same.
We had genetic testing done... so the findings were all noted in my records... and I'm pretty sure I didn't have any extra testing done... all the same regular testing.
One mc doesn't make you high risk or anything so it's just like a regular pregnancy. If you are high risk for whatever reason then I would assume there may be some differences.
Now that I have gestational diabetes I am being treated differently... just more appts and sono's, and extra dr's thrown in the mix as well etc.

I am after a chemical as well.... the only thing different is they took my blood more often right in the beginning to check levels and make sure they were rising like they should. That's about it.
Congrats!

Re: Is anyone here pregnant after a miscarriage?
Thanks ladies. I'm a wreck as well, very very nervous of another miscarriage since I'm only about 5 minutes pregnant. I guess this is normal.

Totally normal.. My first loss wasn't a miscarriage. We had severe complications in the second trimester. My second loss was a chemical. Yet still.. at 7wks pregnant.. I'm a nervous wreck.

They did at first. I had two miscarriages, so they saw me early (right away at 4 weeks) to test my HCG levels and did sonos. I kept going once a week to get sonos until they saw a strong HB.
After that, it's been the same. I'm on Lovenox this time because they found that i have a blood clotting issue.
Good luck!!!!!

Of course!!! Every time I got a sono those first few weeks, I was expecting bad news. Once I passed the times I miscarried and saw the HB I did feel a bit better, but you still worry. It's normal. Try to be positive...
