Is anyone DC on Almond Milk?
Ds isnt doing well on soy and we are thinking about trying almond milk.
How was your child on it? Also what was the reason you choose almond milk?

Re: Is anyone DC on Almond Milk?
No but one of my friend's who lives a raw-food lifestyle had her child on brazil nut milk. They made their own milk. Her son loved it!

Re: Is anyone DC on Almond Milk?
DD drinks almond, oat, hemp & rice milk. She doesn't drink cow milk. No soy, either.
ETA: Reasons: We prefer not to have her have much in terms of dairy products - just organic yogurt & cheese occasionally. As for soy, it contains estrogen-mimicing compounds, so we'd rather she avoid that.
Almond milk is high in calcium & higher in protein than some of the other alternative milks.

Re: Is anyone DC on Almond Milk?
DD drinks the vanilla almond milk and has no issues. She was drinking the soy from 1-2.5 years old and then just didn't want anything to do with it. So I tried almond milk and she drinks it more but still not that often.
The reason she was on soy to begin with was for a dairy allergy and she still has the allergy.

If DS weren't allergic to almonds, we would do almond milk at one year (he's 7.5 months) for these exact reasons. We will do coconut milk until he grows out of his allergies (if he ever does ).
