The only reason I can think of is to maybe take some pics of DD outside, in the snow...

someone got her a winter coat as a gift

She'll be 5 months in december....so I guess to about March (which would be 8 months)

so in that time period of around 6 months....do they need "winter gear"?

I had one and honestly used it maybe 5 times and then switched to a jacket and blanket.. it was so huge and puffy... i really only used it for his pic with santa and the firetruck which i could have used the jacket only for instead

I bought one, mainly because I got it relatively cheap ($30) from Carter's. My DD loves to play in the snow, so hopefully DS will too!!

I only used it when I put him in the Bjorn but we did that quite a bit.

I have 3 different snowsuits from when my DS was born and I think I used them 2 or 3 times. I didn't use a snowsuit at all when my DD was born last October.

DS was 6 months in December and I never got one. There was only one occassion, probably in March, when it snowed and I thought it might have been cute to take a few pictures. Other than that, nope, didn't need it. If you do decide to get one, you may want to wait until they go on sale.

I ordered one for DS. We like to have winter fun! I'll pull him around on a sled every day there is snow. We'll be going to VT too!

We never used it - not last winter either - he is 2.5 and now I'm thinking we may actually use one this winter!

DS was about 4-7 months during his first winter. We never got him a snowsuit. If we were ever out, he was in a stroller. (And that included our trip upstate where 2 feet of snow were on the ground.)
