Is 5yo ok to pierce ears?
I know many piece as a baby. I thought waiting until she was older was better, so she could choose.
Now she's asking to have them pierced. Do you think she'll pull or rip them out in play?
I'm such a worrier

Is 5yo ok to pierce ears?
I think it depends on the child. I got mine pierced when I asked, at 5yo. A few months later, one accidentally got ripped out by a branch when I was with my family in Montauk. It hurt a little at the time, but it was no big deal at all. I let them close up and got them repierced at 7 and it was fine. My 2 sister also got their ears pierced around age 4/5 and neither had any issues with them.

I think it's a great age! We waited till our DD asked for them (almost 4) and all was fine.

Just wondering, aside from the child playing with their ears or earrings (which they will probably do matter what as a 5 yr old) , is is really better to pierce when they are a baby as opposed to a little child?

I got mine when I asked which was when I was 5 and I never had any trouble with them.

My 7 and 5 (almost 6) year old DDs are getting their ears pierced on Friday and that thought never even entered my mind. I think they'll be fine!

My two DDs (4 and 5.5) just got theirs done at Christmas time...they have been great about it! They wanted them done, so we brought them. I'm not a fan of piercing as infants, so we figured we would wait until they asked.
