This is the dimensions my architect has done for my closets (DH would have his own so it's just for one person). I can't picture it. He has it with a single door - is that wide enough to have rods on each side?

it seems big enough to me, but i would probably put rods horizontally across the closet, not on either side.

in our old closet the rods were staggered so there was one up high towards the back, and one about 3 feet lower towards the front. the closet was about that size. maybe a bit deeper but not much.

is this for a bedroom or linen closet? for me for a bedroom closet it would be too small as I learned things hung up and or with shelves do take up a ton of space.

It's supposed to be my bedroom closet.

The space for closets between my bedroom and Chat Icon , and in the hall is about 100 sq ft. The architect proposed doing closets 4 x 4'10 deep for each room and then a small linen closet.

Functionality wise, I think it makes more sense to split the space long -ways, giving us a closet that is about 2 1/2 ft deep and 8 ft long. This takes up more wall space (having bi fold doors as opposed to a single entry closet door), but to me - it's easier to use since the other space won't be a walk-in. To me, dead space.

I agree with you.
