irish festival tomorrow?

has anyone gone to the long beach irish festival before?? what time does it start and whats there? is it an environment for a baby? My DH is super irish pride (we named our dogs and baby irish names) and figured it would be a nice thing for the baby to see. but I'm not sure if all it is, is people getting drunk. Chat Icon

Re: irish festival tomorrow?

i've never been, but from what i've heard, it's just a lot of people getting drink at all the bars down there. they used to have a Gaelic football match at the beach, but don't know if they still do that. i think there are also vendors on the boardwalk, but really it's a lot of amateurs getting tanked.

Re: irish festival tomorrow?

During the day I believe they have vendors and stuff there so I think it would be baby friendly...dont quote me on that though...I go to a festival every year in Wildwood NJ and I might be confusing the two...

At night is a different story. Ive only gone there at night and its a drunk fest.

Beach Gaelic? My DH is the organizer! Which team does your DH play for?

eta: I think the parade is baby friendly. I think night time is a total Sh** Show. Chat Icon

Re: irish festival tomorrow?

I thought it was mostly a bar/drinking thing

we are missing it - off to a charity walk in SI...but our friends are starting with mimos at 10am then off to the west end bars by 12pm
