Invitation wording

I'm working on Communion invites for my son's Communion later this year (I want to order them and have them ready since it's a popular communion weekend.

So I updated the auto text on Vistaprint... and it reads like this

Me and DH Lastname
invite you to join us as they celebrate
the First Holy Communion of their son

So it seems to me that it's reading incorrectly. I think it should be one of the following but, which one?

Invite you to join us as we celebrate the First Holy Communion of our son

Invite you to join them as they celebrate the First Holy Communion of their son

Which do you prefer.

Thanks!

Thanks - I like that one too. Just needed others to look at it because it was making me crazy that the sample was worded incorrectly.

I like the way "us" sounds more than "them"

I would remove the US or them... join as they celebrate the First Holy Commuion of their son.
As it's worded with us, you are switching between third and first person POV

You are talking about the original wording switching, right?

Re: Invitation wording

Yes because
Me and DH Lastname (3rd person)
invite you to join us as they celebrate (1st person)
the First Holy Communion of their son (3rd person)

By removing us from line 2, it becomes 3rd person

Ok - I was just checking that you didn't think that of any of the options that I gave - I agree that goes from 3rd to 1st to 3rd (that was the wording in the sample)...

I think the first person is more personal. I would use the "we" and "our" instead of "them" and "their".
