Introducing solids: what time do you feed DC?

I think we're finally starting cereal this weekend. At the beginning, I plan on giving DS cereal once per day. Since DH and I both work, I plan to give him food at night. If you only give DC food once per day, when do you give it to DC?

When did you start giving DC food twice per day? If you work, did you have daycare give DC the food?

I'm EBFing and plan to mix the cereal with BM. Daycare won't give him cereal with BM b/c it's a bodily fluid and they can't touch it even if I prepare it at home. I guess I could give a vegetable or fruit instead of cereal at daycare or prepare the cereal with water. If you were EBFing, did DC have any issues taking cereal prepared with water? Do you just use tap water to prepare it?

We started DS on cereal in the evening. We started with 2 tablespoons of rice cereal and 2 tablespoons BM after his last feeding. It has worked really well for us. We then started mixing fruit into his cereal along with BM>

We introduced food 2x per day when DS was 5 1/2 months old. My sister watches DS but we give him the cereal in the AM before we leave for work. I nurse DS at 6:30 AM and then he gets cereal at 7:30 AM.

Now, he gets a meat at lunch. My sister feeds him the meat.

I don't think you'll have a problem if the cereal is mixed with water and fruit.

We started solids when DS was 4 1/2 months old. We waited about a month before we gave it twice per day. That is when the ped. told us to go to twice and to mix fruit with it.

we feed DS twice a day. He eats once at 9AM (cereal & veg/fruit) and then at 7PM (cereal & veg/fruit). He loves it!!

i just started DD at 6 months after EBFing. i initially was going to do once a day, then gradually increase to 2 and 3, but she took to the food so quickly that i was giving it to her 3 times within a few days.

i feed her breakfast between 7 and 8 (she'll nurse between 4 an 6 am), then lunch between 12 and 1, and dinner 5 and 6. boobs in between feedings as requested ...

i mix cereal with a shot of formula. i don't have a huge BM stash at this point and defrosting or pumping just for a mixing is just way too much of a PITA. so far, so good!
